We have a winner!
The canoe raffle went off pretty much as planned on Saturday evening with the exception of the videos we had expected to show had some technical issues. But the food was good, the company was great and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. You can watch the videos in their entirety here.
The lucky winner of the canoe, Heidi Eschenbacher, was called, as soon as her name was drawn, and notified that she had won the canoe as the attendees cheered in the background.
Below is a note we received from Heidi the next day:
Hello Veterans for Peace Chapter 27,
Just a quick note to say that we're so excited to have won the wood strip canoe. I confirmed that my Dad, Joe Eschenbacher, bought the ticket and put my name on it. He said he's been buying tickets for years and doesn't put his name on it because he "never wins anything." We're quite excited to have such a beautiful boat for us to share. As a kid we used to go on father-daughter canoe trips.
Thanks for such a fun and exciting call yesterday. It was particularly fun to hear all of the cheering in the background of the call.
